Tasteful Thai
While there may be a truth to the well-known assumption that “looks may be deceiving”, Krua Bophut easily proves such a phrase inaccurate. With a classic layout completely plentiful in traditional Thai aesthetic nestled on 150 meters of Koh Samui’s stunning Fisherman’s Village beach shore, the cuisine acts as a mouthwatering cultural enhancement. Making the focus of the classic Thai menu that of herbs familiar to the country’s culinary creations and not that directly of chili, the restaurant acts as the ideal gathering for both foreigners and Thais seeking mild cuisine.
Diners can choose to enjoy a meal inside the wooden walls of the traditional Thai-style structure equipped with vaulted ceilings and antiquated embellishments, on the spacious wooden terrace overlooking the restaurant and ocean, or, with the sand directly underneath and the waves crashing just steps away. This extremely close proximity to the ocean enables Krua Bophut to offer the freshest selections of seafood on the eatery’s menu. Seafood dishes, such as the steamed white snapper with a delicate yet flavorful sauce of lemon and chili served under a bed of fresh herbs, are incomparable to most restaurants around the world. Other notable Thai signature plates have the ability to literally and figuratively shine before guests, as some dishes, including the wonderful red curry with duck, are served over candlelight to ensure the maintenance of warmth throughout the meal.
The “Bo Phut Kitchen” selection of appetizers is the ideal start to a meal, regardless of the main course selection. This dish provides a sampling of items that can only be described as a representation of Thai comfort foods; comprised of the mainstream favorites of spring rolls, crispy dim sum, tempura-coated prawns, and more, this precursor to a charming meal in an enchanting environment guarantees a classically Thai experience for the sight and taste.
As the brain child and subsequent off-shoot of five successful Thai restaurants scattered throughout the metropolitan areas of Germany, the property is the product of the Executive Chef directly associated with the opening of each and every Thai restaurant under the brand’s belt. With ten years of work as a Thai culinary producer, the chef spent a portion of time at Krua Bophut, carefully training staff and developing a menu capable of showcasing both the achievements of Thai cuisine and the availability of ingredients on the island. Once the restaurant embraced the concept fully and without flaw, the chef relocated back to Germany to oversee other properties.
After the announcement of a prix fixe menu for diners to indulge in, a reasonably priced and well-rounded option is now available at Krua Bophut.
